Here you can read about the different materials and their properties.

925 Sterling Silver & silver rings

925 means that the jewelry contains 925 parts of genuine silver and 75 parts of other metals, usually copper. Conversely, you can count on 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals.
Copper is mixed with pure silver to delay the discoloration process and to make the metal harder and better adapted to jewelry. Without copper, silver is so soft that it easily bends or even breaks.
Silver rings are incredibly popular and beautiful. Silver is a precious metal and popular in jewelry, engagement rings & wedding rings. It is cheaper than gold but incredibly beautiful.
Silver rings and silver jewelry need to be polished regularly as they oxidize.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a hard material that does not oxidize and is an easy-to-maintain material that does not need maintenance (steelrings cannot be enlarged or reduced due to its hardness).
Does the jewelry get dirty it can be cleaned with a little soap and water.
Steel jewelry can be used when you shower or bathe at home. However, avoid salt water, which can cause the steel to rust if it has minor damage or is not cleaned after the bath. If you are going to swim in the sea, take off your jewelry first, the same applies if you are going to swim in pools where the water contains chlorine.

Titan

Titanium is slightly better than stainless steel. It is extremely resistant to corrosion and rust. Unlike stainless steel, you can use the jewelry even when swimming in salt water or in pools where the water contains chlorine without cleaning it afterwards.
Titanium weighs less than steel, but has the same dark color. Titanium is a very hard and light metal (titaniumrings cannot be enlarged or reduced due to its hardness).
Titanium jewelry can be worn by almost everyone, as it hardly emits any other metals at all.

Is titanium nickel free?
Titanium is hypoallergenic as it is a biocompatible material which in everyday terms means that it cannot trigger any kind of allergy.
In addition to being extremely durable, titanium is hypoallergenic. It does not cause contact allergies and is therefore ideal for people with sensitive skin.

Is titanium durable?
Titanium is a metallic element that is very advantageously used for jewelry as it is completely nickel-free.
Titanium often gets a slightly grayer color than steel and goes very well with a matte surface. In addition to this, titanium is a very hard and light material that results in durable and comfortable jewelry.

Can you enlarge a Titanium ring?
It is not possible to enlarge a titanium ring in the same way as a gold ring, the only thing you can do to enlarge a titanium ring is to grind away material from the inside of the ring.

Can titanium be scratched?
Titanium is a hard metal that does not get very deep scratches. But you should know that the surfaces of almost all metals get scratches and so does titanium. However, gold or silver are much easier to scratch as these metals are softer.

Black Titanium / Black Titanium

What is Black Titan?

Black Titanium is a special formula of titanium, designed to create a very durable, ceramic-like black coating when heated at a high temperature. This innovative material differs from standard titanium in several important ways:

  1. Composition: Unlike standard titanium, which typically forms a thin oxidized layer when heated and cooled with certain oils, Black Titanium is (BlackTi) a unique alloy. It contains a mixture of titanium, zirconium and niobium.

  2. Durability: The inclusion of zirconium and niobium in the alloy enables the creation of a truly bonded, robust black coating on the surface when heat treated.
This coating is more durable and ceramic-like, offering improved resistance to wear and corrosion compared to the thin oxidized layer found on standard titanium.

  3. Appearance: The heat treatment process results in a consistent and aesthetically pleasing black finish, making Black Titanium not only functionally but also visually distinct

In conclusion, BlackTitanium's unique properties and superior durability make it an excellent choice for high-performance applications and stylish products with long durability.

The advantages of Black Titan:

Durability and strength: Titanium is valued for its strength-to-weight ratio. It is as strong as steel but weighs a fraction of the weight.
This makes it not only ideal for the aerospace industry but also perfect for a ring.
For those who want a lightweight wedding ring, but also want it in black, black titanium is the perfect choice.

Hypoallergenic: Like regular titanium, black titanium is hypoallergenic, meaning it is safe to wear for those with sensitive skin

Understated uniqueness: There are usually two types of people who like black rings: those who want to make a statement and those who love the classic , discreet style of black.
While it may seem strange that a black titanium wedding ring can achieve both, it really is true. Maybe that's why black never goes out of fashion.

Low maintenance: The bonded black finish on a black titanium ring provides an extra layer of protection against scratches. The ceramic-like finish is harder than on a regular titanium ring.
This means that while the ring will definitely develop patina & character over the years, you don't need to polish it.

Tungsten & Tungsten rings

Tungsten and tungsten carbide rings

The difference between a pure Tungsten (Wolfram) ring and a Tungsten Carbide ring is that pure tungsten rings can be scratched and they will lose their luster and shine over time.
Tungsten carbide on the other hand is even harder than pure tungsten and cannot be scratched. A Tungsten Carbide ring, also called a Tungsten ring, will retain its luster long after you have passed as they have an eternal shine and do not oxidize.

At Fint och Billigt we only sell rings in Tungsten Carbide.

Tungsten is the name of a very hard metal that also goes by the name Tungsten, which historically has always been used for jewelry.
It has both a degree of hardness and a melting point far above ordinary steel, and must actually be heated to 3000 degrees to melt.
Tungsten is the world's hardest metal and the world's second hardest material after diamond.
Therefore, production is far from simple, but we can guarantee that our selection of tungsten rings is of the absolute highest quality.
Tungsten rings keep their shape forever!
Most tungsten rings use the metal's special properties to create shiny surfaces that are never scratched, but tungsten rings can also look different.
What they all have in common is that they keep their shape forever, and as a starting point are almost impossible to scratch with tools that ordinary people have access to. (Note! This does not apply to plated or colored surfaces, these surfaces can be scratched and worn like all materials if they are not cared for. Tungsten rings cannot be enlarged or reduced due to its hardness).
The only real disadvantage of a Tungsten ring is that, due to its hardness, it can crack if it e.g. dropped into a stone floor. However, this usually happens if you don't have the correct size.
The natural color of tungsten rings is silver gray. The color can be described as slightly darker than silver.
Our selection of tungsten rings includes shiny, black and gold-filled models.
With tungsten you get rings that last practically forever,
and here at  Fint and Everyone can afford cheap as we have the absolute best prices on the market.

Properties of Tungsten Rings

• Does not oxidize, (never rusts and darkens)
• Anti-allergic
• Scratch resistant
• 4x harder than Titanium
• 3x shinier than silver
• The only metal that has a permanent shine
• Hardest metal on the planet, used by the aerospace industry

What does Tungsten contain?

TUNGSTEN / TUNGSTEN

Our rings are made from a mixture of Tungsten and Carbon. To bind these materials and give the ring its special properties, we use a small amount of Nickel. The material binds extremely hard and therefore the nickel release in our rings is under the EU limit and is considered nickel-safe.
All tungsten rings throughout the world contain nickel.

The optimal mixture for jewelry is 15-16% Nickel and 69-84% Tungsten.
Tungsten carbide rings are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional wedding bands. One of the reasons for their popularity is their durability and scratch-resistant properties. Tungsten carbide rings also contain nickel which is a common allergen for many people.
Although tungsten carbide rings contain nickel is the amount of nickel released from the ring significantly lower than with other nickel-containing jewellery. This is because tungsten carbide is a very dense and hard material, which means that nickel is tightly bound and less prone to leak out of the ring and come into contact with the skin.
In general, people with mild nickel allergies can wear tungsten carbide rings without experiencing any allergic reactions. However, people with severe nickel allergies may still experience skin irritation or other allergic symptoms, even with the lower amount of nickel in the ring.< br />If you have a nickel allergy and are considering a tungsten carbide ring, it is best to consult with an allergist or dermatologist to determine if it is safe for you to wear. They may recommend performing a patch test to assess your skin's reaction to the ring before wearing it regularly.

Ceramic rings & Jewelry / Zirconium

Do you think of a plate when you think of ceramics? Ceramics come in several different varieties. The most famous is probably the manufacture of knives in ceramic, but it is also found on exclusive cars that have ceramic brakes.

Many people think that rings & jewelry is only made of metal, just as the common perception is that wedding rings are only made of precious metals such as gold or platinum.
Today rings are made in several popular materials such as titanium, steel, tungsten and of course in ceramics.

Ceramics have been used for many years to manufacture watches by leading European brands and are available in a variety of colors.
It is also very popular in black rings, wedding rings and engagement rings.
In fact, black ceramic rings are the only rings in the whole world that cannot lose their color as they are homogeneously black.

The material used to create ceramic jewelry and ceramic rings is Zirconium, a type of cubic zirconia, it is the same material used to make artificial diamonds.
Ceramic rings are very durable, just like diamonds, they are very scratch and wear resistant and largely indestructible.
Ceramics are harder than titanium and almost as durable as tungsten, also called Tungsten or Tungsten Carbide.

Ceramic rings do not lose their color because they are not colored or chemically modified.
The color of a ceramic ring depends on a combination of the material's own natural minerals. Ceramic rings are also completely hypoallergenic and metal-free, so they do not conduct electricity.

Fint och Billigt's ceramic rings are really stylish and different, a fun and innovative alternative as wedding rings or engagement rings instead of gold rings.

Jewelry

Jewelry is a mixture of different metals. Jewelry in bijouterie has a limited lifespan, but stays beautiful longer with proper care.
They are sensitive to moisture, so remove jewelry when you shower or bathe.

Leather

Leather only gets better with time. As brand new, the leather may stain or oil itself, initially. This is completely normal and will go away with time. The leather also becomes less hard and more flexible over time.
Leather is a durable material that can last for many years. Moisture can cause stains and mold, so don't shower with leather jewelry on.

Pearls

Freshwater pearls are sensitive to moisture and perfume. Feel free to wipe off with a cleaning cloth after wearing the pearls so that the luster stays.
The pearls are best stored in linen cloth, in a sealed plastic bag or hanging at room temperature. Cotton has a drying effect on the pearl and should therefore be avoided.

Cubic zirconia / CZ / Kubisk Zirkonia

Cubic Zirconia is just like the diamond, carbon pressed under high pressure, although this has been done in the laboratory for a faster period, under controlled forms. Of this, CZ is always completely free of "impurities" from nature, as can be seen in real diamonds.
The hardness of all gemstones is measured using the Mohs hardness scale, which shows a gemstone's scratch resistance.
CZ / Cubic Zirconia has a hardness of 8 on the Mohs scale and a real diamond has a hardness of 10. To tell them apart requires a microscope or a trained professional eye.

Zopius Diamant

What is a Zopius Diamond?
Zopius Diamonds is the name of the Lab Simulated diamonds that are source graded. These diamonds are created from a carbon and zircon base just like a diamond. However, they cannot be tested as a real diamond because they are chemically different. The reason it has the name Zopius diamond is because the "diamond" or gemstone is almost identical to a real diamond. However, there are some minor differences. Unless you're a trained jeweler with a microscope, chances are you won't be able to tell the difference. Zopius diamonds are higher grade than Cubic Zirconia and some moissanite. Zopius Diamonds are very similar in clarity to real diamonds but at a fraction of the price.

Moissanite / Moissanit

What is a Moissanite?
A stunning and radiant lab-created gemstone, a stone that promises a lifetime of elegance and brilliance. Known for its exceptional luster and durability, Moissanite is a highly sought-after choice for jewelry.
Moissanite is a gemstone that was discovered in 1893 by accident. The French researcher Henri Moissan, who also won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, discovered microscopic particles in a crater from a meteorite that fell to Earth.
At first he thought he had discovered diamonds, but a few years later came to the conclusion that the crystals he discovered were of a different composition. A moissanite, which was what Henri Moissan discovered, is similar to a diamond in many ways.
The difference is that instead of hard pressed carbon that a diamond is made of, a moissanite consists of so-called silicon carbide. A natural moissanite is very rare and therefore almost all moissanites are made in a laboratory.

The hardness of all gemstones is measured using the Mohs hardness scale, which shows a gemstone's scratch resistance. A moissanite has a 9.25 on this scale, which is high. This means that a moissanite is extremely resistant and hard in its design.
Worth noting is that a diamond rated 10 on the Mohs scale is almost four times stronger than a moissanite.

Can I tell the difference between a moissanite and a diamond with the naked eye?
Distinguishing moissanite from a diamond without special tools can be difficult. Both display an extraordinary luster and brilliance, making moissanite an attractive choice.

Are moissanites suitable for all types of jewelry or are there specific pieces of jewelry they work best in?
Moissanites are versatile and can be used in all different types of jewelry including engagement rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. Their durability and luster make them an excellent choice for both everyday and special occasions.

Granater

What is a Garnet stone?
Garnet is a gemstone that comes in a wide variety of colors and shades. Its hues range from soft pinks to deep reddish tones and even blood-red. Garnets can also be found in shades of brown, gray, and green.

Garnets have been cherished gemstones for centuries, often used in jewelry. They can be faceted, cut as cabochons, or tumbled. Sometimes natural crystals are used without cutting, as garnet often forms beautiful geometric crystal shapes.

Garnet has excellent gemstone qualities – it is hard, durable, and takes on a brilliant luster when polished. It is one of the most popular and well-known gemstones. The most highly valued varieties are green garnets with an emerald-like color and deep red ones with a ruby-like glow.

Symbolism and Properties
Red garnet is believed to stimulate our connection to the divine life force within us. It opens the way for love, compassion, and warmth to flow into your life. Garnet is also regarded as a stone of attraction – whether you want to attract a partner or something else in the physical world.

Additionally, garnet helps us feel grounded, present, and in touch with our bodies.

Gold plating

You cover a metal (e.g. silver or copper) in real gold to get all the beautiful properties of gold, but at a lower price. Gold-plated jewelery really stays beautiful for as long as you like if you take good care of it, i.e. take it off when you shower and wash your hands, and store it so that it doesn't get scratched too much.

Silver Plating

Silver-plated jewelry lasts better than most jewelry you find in stores. Including expensive designer jewelry!
The fact that a piece of jewelry is silver-plated means that the metal parts are usually made of a core of steel or copper, which is covered with a layer of real silver.

Rhodium

Rhodium is a platinum material which is a metallic element and one of the world's most expensive and rarest precious metals.
Currently, Rhodium< span> about 10 times more expensive than gold.

Rhodiumis silver-white in color and is used to plate jewelry in both silverlike white gold, silver jewelry takes on an appearance similar to white gold.

The advantage of rhodium plating or Rhodining is that the surface becomes harder and thus you run less risk of scratching or
damaging your jewelry and rhodium</span > prevents the jewelry from oxidizing.

A rhodium-plated piece of jewelry therefore does not need to be polished to the same extent as a piece of jewelry withoutrhodium to maintain its luster.

Rhodium is a plating and should be treated carefully and can wear down over time.
If you want, you can return the jewelry and let it root again.

Skin problems in connection with a ring on the finger?

It is not uncommon to have problems with irritated skin under rings, but it is not certain that this is due to an allergic reaction to the metal in the ring. The absolute most common thing is that the skin turns white under the ring. This is caused by moisture remaining in stamps and under stones. You should never sleep with the ring. Remember to always remove the ring in the evening to allow the skin to dry properly.

In the case of severe irritation and it resembles anallergy-like rashthis is in most cases due to the accumulation of different types of substances under the ring. These accumulate during daily use and can e.g. be: cosmetics, soap residue, skin deposits, bacteria, hand creams and the like. The irritation occurs most often under stones and in stamps. If you get into the habit of cleaning your rings on the inside once a week, you can avoid this. A ring collects a lot more dirt than you think.

High risk rings that cause these problems more easily are rings with a "hollow/hollow" inside at the top. These are not recommended for those of you who are particularly sensitive.

Do you have a rash around the entire finger under e.g. a smooth ring, there is the possibility that it is an allergy and a doctor's visit may be recommended to possibly. ensure this and against what. (If you experience problems with older white gold rings, it may also be due to a nickel allergy because they were alloyed with nickel before 1980)

Clean the ring with a toothbrush dipped in warm water and washing-up liquid and brush out the stamps of the ring and the space under the stones (if the ring is particularly dirty, you can leave it in a bowl of water overnight). Rinse the ring thoroughly in clean water so that no detergent residue remains that could irritate the skin.

ATTENTION! Do not use running water to rinse and brush the rings.
If they are older rings, there is a risk that the settings are worn down and
then the stones can come loose and disappear in the wash.
In case of problems, it is also possible to  coat the inside of the ring with nail varnish  to see if it gets better. If you notice that it is getting better, you probably know what could be causing it.

  1.   Residual Chemicals = Wash/Clean.
  2.   Moist Eczema = Increase size if tight, switch to a ring without cavities in   stone positions, reduce width, We recommend up to 4-5mm.
  3.   Other allergy = Possible. exchange of one precious metal for another.

Tips

Good to keep in mind when buying rings for those of you who know you have sensitive skin to avoid moisture remaining on the skin. Choose rings withcupped inside and without holes under stones. This makes it both airier for the skin and makes the ring easier to put on and take off.
