What is a Tennis Bracelet?
Tennis bracelet is an exclusive bracelet with stones set along the entire link.
Tennis bracelets are perhaps one of the most exclusive things that can be worn around the wrist.
But how come it's called tennis bracelets?
And how did the tennis bracelet actually get its name?
It all started with American tennis pro Chris Evert in 1987. She competes in the US Open with her legendary two-handed backhand.
What no one knew at this point was that this match would become jewelry history.
As this match unfolds, Chris Evert had already won the US Open six times before, but this time something happened that changed history forever.
Chris Evert interrupts the match after she drops her diamond bracelet.
The audience holds their breath & time seems to stand still while diamonds glimmer in the sky before landing on the tennis court.
Not until the diamond bracelet and all the diamonds are found and in safe custody can the match continue.
After the match, Chris Evert is interviewed and asked about what happened on the pitch, Chris Evert then answers:
"I dropped my tennis bracelet".
There and then history was made, a new category of jewelry was born and since that day it is called tennis bracelet.
Tennis bracelets are as trendy today as they were then.
The design has been around for a long time and has been worn by well-dressed women and socialites.
Tennis bracelets are a common sight on the red carpet and other extravagant events.
However, it was not called Tennis Bracelet before Chris Evert's match in 1987.
